Global Aging Preparedness Project
The Global Aging Preparedness Project is a multiyear research initiative funded with financial support from Prudential plc. The purpose of the project, which was launched in October 2010, is to help advance understanding of global aging, and particularly its implications for retirement planning and retirement policy.
Visit the Global Aging Preparedness Project’s dedicated website.
The Global Aging Preparedness Project initially began as a collaboration between Prudential plc and the CSIS Global Aging Initiative. When Richard Jackson left CSIS to launch the Global Aging Institute, the project migrated with him.
There are currently two ongoing research projects being carried out under the umbrella of the Global Aging Preparedness Project. The Global Aging Preparedness Index (GAP Index) Project, from which the overall project takes its name, provides a unique new quantitative framework for assessing the fiscal sustainability and income adequacy of retirement systems around the world. The East Asia Retirement Survey Project explores how rapid development and rapid aging are transforming retirement attitudes, behavior, and expectations in the most economically and geopolitically important region of the emerging world.
